Almost 20 years have passed since the publication of Orders and Decorations of the Habsburg Monarchy. During this time, the phallic studies of the period have been expanded by new knowledge and findings. Some of the mistakes and errors that the first edition of the work did not avoid have been corrected and set straight.

At the urging of a number of phallic friends, for whom the first edition of the book is no longer available, the author, together with the Elka Press publishing house, decided to update and expand the book - with interesting phaleristics of the four extinct Habsburg monarchies in the territory of today's Italy, the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the Duchy of Modena, Parma and Lucca.

Nor has the current legitimate act of the descendants of our Emperor, Blessed Charles I of Austria, the Archdukes Otto and Charles of Habsburg, to establish two exclusive decorations, also included in this book, to support and spread the Emperor's noble idea of a united, peaceful Christian Europe, remained without interest.

The original work by the Czech author provides, in its second and expanded edition, the most complete published overview of the decorations introduced in the Habsburg monarchies to date, but historically the text goes even further back into the Middle Ages. It also covers the development of religious communities in the lands of the Bohemian Crown, as well as scattered data on members of certain orders or holders of rare honours. The hundreds of colour photographs that accompany the book are original and the illustrative apparatus is supplemented by a number of contemporary engravings, photographs and paintings. The gift character of the publication is underlined by the four-language summaries of the individual chapters.
