Circular shirt - Viking and early medieval type

This ringlet shirt is based on the armour worn by warriors throughout Europe during the Viking Age and early medieval period. Similar armour protected warriors from the 9th to the 12th century, when it spread among the Vikings, Normans and Slavic tribes. The ringmail shirt was valued for its strength and mobility - it provided protection from slashing blows without restricting combat.

The shirt is made of 8 mm diameter round steel rings, braided from 1.2 mm thick wire with a round cross-section. The surface of the rings is not polished or blackened, only lightly oiled. Thanks to this, the armour retains the natural appearance of metal and is rust-resistant.

Dimensions: length 90 cm, chest circumference 140 cm, sleeve length 25 cm. This cut corresponds to the typical shape of early medieval ring shirts, which reached approximately to the knees and had shorter sleeves for easier movement in battle.

The shirt is suitable for historical fencing, reenactment or museum displays and its workmanship corresponds to the common equipment of warriors from the Viking period and the first crusades.
