Corvus Raven Carved Bone Pendant. Ravens, black phantoms of the sky, have alway played a prominent role in many European cultures and mythologies. In Norse mythology, Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory) are ravens that soar all over the world and bring information to the God Odin. According to Druid tradition they are believed to bring on new changes, death to one phase of one's life and the birth to another.
Because of its black plumage, croaking call, and diet of carrion, raven is often portray as harbinger of doom or death. However, according to legend, the Kingdom of England will fall if the ravens of the Tower of London are removed. And that is exactly what happened after WW2 when the Tower's ravens perished or flew away.
