Valkyrie - pewter pendant, inspired by the find from Uppland. In Norse mythology, a valkyrie (from Old Norse - valkyrja "chooser of the slain") is a female being (protection deity) who chooses who may die in battle and who may live. The half of those who die in battle are then taken to Valhalla, a place ruled by Odin. There, the fallen warriors become einherjar (Old Norse for "once fighters"). Height: 3,5 cm.
