CELTIC HEAD, La Tene replica, motive from fibula, talisman, silver pendant, Ag 925
Celtic silver talisman of an Iron Age Bearded Man. This motive is taken from early La Tene bronze "mask" fibula from Mikulovice, Eastern Bohemia, the Czech Republic. It is a very rare and unique find within Europe, 500-400 BCE. Motive of a head was very frequent and popular among the ancient Celts who even kept their enemies heads in their dwelling believing they would gain strength from them.
