Roman sword gladius with scabbard. One of the weapons with which Roman legionaries conquered large parts of the then known world was the gladius. The different types of this weapon are distinguished primarily by the shape of the blade.
This Gladius is of the Mainz type with a double-edged blade. It is extremely effective at slashing and stabbing, making it a feared weapon in battles. This replica has a blade made of uncut EN45 spring steel and the handle and pommel are made of wood. The scabbard is made of leather and is richly decorated with brass and metal elements depicting the Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius, and also includes support rings on the sides.
