The Tale of Sir Radzig’s Sword
In the heart of Bohemian workshops, a replica has been forged of the sword known to millions of players around the world. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Sir Radzig Kobyla’s sword carries the weight of destiny. It was meant to be a gift from a father, but fell into the hands of the enemy. In the end, however, it was reclaimed and returned to its rightful owner. It became a symbol of loyalty and of the strength to endure in the face of adversity.
That sword… the sword of Lord Radzig Kobyla (to be purchased here). Forged in Skalitz, by the hand of Martin, the blacksmith loyal and deft. ’Twas meant as a gift – silent, wordless – from father unto son.

A weapon most uncommon, nay, a token of blood and honour. Yet alas! Ere the father’s hand might pass the blade to his heir, a baleful host descended.

Sigismund of Luxembourg with his Cumans and Markvart von Aulitz laid Skalitz low in ashes and gore. Henry – the blacksmith’s son, then unknowing who he truly was – saved the sword and fled unto Talmberg. Yet his heart drew him back, to bury sire and dam. There fell upon him brigands, who smote him sore, and the sword they seized. But Theresa and the men of Talmberg preserved his life. In Rattay he began his path – at first for vengeance, then for truth. He entered into the service of Lord Radzig, never dreaming that Radzig was his father.

Many deeds followed thereafter. Henry learned the sword was held by Istvan Toth – a Magyar lord and mortal foe. In chains, wracked on instruments of torment, he learned the truth: noble blood coursed in his veins, and he was Radzig’s son. Escaping, he mustered men, struck down the bandits, yet still the sword remained in traitorous hands. Later, in the lands of Trosky, Henry and young Lord Capon were ambushed whilst bearing tidings to Otto von Bergow. Both survived, reaching Castle Trosky, whence they were sent to unmask the brigands’ nest – yet it was but a snare, and their company fell.

Henry and Capon were cast into captivity, but their gaoler was no foe – it was Jan Žižka. And he unveiled the truth: that the true betrayer was Otto himself, who with Toth wove treachery. Henry joined with Žižka, and in battle smote Istvan with his own hand. Thus the father’s sword was reclaimed once more.

But lo – that blade was no mere steel. It had passed with Henry through fire and mire, through anguish and through triumph. In Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) Henry mended it with his own hand, and made it stronger still. And after the final battle, when the mists were lifted and the blood upon the earth lay cold, he stood before Radzig. He stretched forth his arm, to return the sword unto him to whom by lineage it belonged. But Radzig, gazing into the eyes of his son, would not take it. “This sword is thine, Henry,” quoth he. And so he bestowed upon it a new meaning. No longer a gift, no longer a weapon only, but a witness. A witness of loyalty, of resolve, and of strength to endure all trials. Thus was the sword restored, not only unto the son – but unto the man who had proven himself worthy to bear it, even in the darkest of times.
