Official swords of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Radzig’s Sword and Invictus
We craft the legendary sword of Sir Radzig Kobyla from Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - a realistic, officially licensed replica by Warhorse Studios. Sir Radzig Kobyla (Racek Kobyla of Dvorec) would surely be proud: behind this sword lie hundreds of hours of work by master craftsmen, experts, and passionate medieval enthusiasts.
See how coal, steel, and bronze come together to forge one of the most sought-after swords in the world.
In our Czech workshops, we also produce the official sword of the game Invictus.
Sword-making is a highly demanding and intricate craft, which is why only a small number of artisans dedicate themselves to it. You must truly love this trade for the results to be worthwhile. We forged swords for the backers of the first game. Many years of experience in swordsmithing, as well as in jewelry-making and leathercraft, have gone into the creation of the Sword of Sir Radzig Kobyla and the Invictus sword.
Inspired by the Sword from the Game
A Symbol of Loyalty and Bond
The sword of Sir Radzig Kobyla, forged in Skalitz by the master blacksmith Martin, was meant to be a silent gift from father to son - symbol of loyalty, responsibility, and a bond that could never be spoken aloud. But before it could be given, Skalitz was destroyed by the armies of Sigismund of Luxembourg under the command of Markvart von Aulitz. Young Henry tried to save the sword by fleeing to the nearby castle of Talmberg. Later, he returned to Skalitz to bury his parents. On the way, he was ambushed by bandits, wounded, and the sword was stolen from him. Salvation came at the hands of Theresa and the soldiers of Talmberg. Yet the sword was lost. Thus began Henry’s journey—at first driven by revenge, later by the search for truth. Unknowingly, Henry entered the service of Sir Radzig, never suspecting he was serving his own father.
It all begins …
Detailed wax modeling and bronze casting
We chose to hand-carve the pommel and guard by engraving into wax - something that 3D printing simply cannot match in quality. Every detail had to be exact, and after a month of delicate wax engraving, the work was completed. This was followed by the equally demanding process of molding the models and then casting them in bronze using the traditional lost-wax method. It should be noted that the entire project - whether we could produce Radzig’s swords true to their in-game design - depended above all on this stage. The pommel design is based on an actual historical find. Since the in-game sword features a silver finish on both pommel and guard, we also applied silver plating and patination.
The blade is the essence of the sword
Hardened steel decorated with etching
The blade is the heart of the sword. We crafted it from high-quality spring steel 54SiCr6, a material often used for swords in historical fencing. The blade is hand-ground, and once this process is completed, a Latin inscription is etched into it: Rex – Familia – Ultio. These words unite loyalty to the king, love for family, and the desire for vengeance. After the blade is finished, the sword is assembled with its individual components, and in the final stage the grip is fitted with metal rings, wooden scales, and then completed with leatherwork.
Fine work with leather and wood
Comfortable Grip
Once the sword leaves the forge and reaches the master saddler, work on the grip begins. It is built around a wooden core, onto which cast bronze rings must be fitted with precision, followed by a winding of twisted wire and a final leather wrap.
The Sword for Sir Radzig Kobyla is Complete
The Result of True Teamwork
Without Daniel Vávra, the people at Warhorse Studios, the artists, historians, and craftsmen who devoted a part of their lives to this work, the sword would never have come into being. The same is true for the fans around the world who supported the game’s release. To all of them we wish to express our gratitude—for making it possible that a game about Czech history has given us the chance to pursue what we ourselves have lived for two decades: history and craftsmanship.
