Massive brass buckle "Axe of God Svarog"
This buckle is based on the motifs of Old Slavic mythology. According to ancient beliefs, Svarog is the God - the blacksmith who gave fire to people and taught them to smelt copper and forge iron. Moreover, he gifted our ancestors with the Golden Kalich, the Golden Plough and the Golden Axe, which he bestowed on warriors with the task of protecting the earth and the sky.
The buckles are cast in brass. After casting, each buckle is hand-worked, then patinated and re-polished.
