Arianrhod is an important Celtic and Welsh Goddess whose name means "silver wheel", referring to the moon and starry sky. In mythology, she is the daughter of the god Dón and the goddess Mathonwy, and the sister of Gwydion and Gilvyth. Her story is depicted mainly in a set of Welsh legends called the Mabinogion.

Arianrhod is often associated with fate, birth and female power. According to legend, she bore two sons - Lleua Llaw Gyffes and Dylan ail Don - in an unusual and magical way. It symbolises the mystery of motherhood, the cycles of nature and the feminine mystery.

Her 'silver wheel' is sometimes interpreted as an image of the celestial sphere, the cycle of life and death and the eternal movement of the stars. Arianrhod is also the patroness of transformation and spiritual maturation, and in paganism she is worshipped as the goddess of lunar magic and feminine power.
