The design of the mug is based on the characteristic decoration of the traditional wooden houses of Čičmany, whose dark log walls are adorned with striking white geometric ornaments. Diamonds, crosses, spirals and other simple shapes form unmistakable patterns that have become one of the best-known symbols of Slovak folk culture.

Čičmany lies in the mountains of north-western Slovakia and is famous above all for its collection of traditional wooden houses. The white ornaments originally appeared as simple decoration on the log buildings and gradually developed into rich decorative compositions. Similar geometric motifs can also be found in local embroidery and other forms of traditional folk art.

The Čičmany enamel mug combines the classic form of an enamel mug with motifs inspired by Carpathian folk traditions and mountain architecture. Perfect for coffee or tea at home, at the cottage or while travelling and exploring the outdoors.
