The owl represents an important role in the mythology of many cultures. In ancient Greece it was associated with the goddess Athena, representing wisdom and knowledge. In Celtic mythology, the owl was considered to be the guide of the soul to the beyond. In Norse mythology, the owl was associated with the goddess Freya. Indian tribes in North America see the owl as a protector and symbol of spiritual knowledge. Owls are thus often seen as beings carrying mystery, wisdom and a deep intuitive understanding of the world.
