Brass buckle "Svarga"
Woodcarving in Ukraine's Transcarpathian region has been known since ancient times - in fact, woodcarving was one of the first expressions of aesthetics and the ability to portray one's own view of the world. The flat carving, typical for the Carpathian region, is characterized by geometric ornaments - lines, circles, symbols. It is the circle as an Old Slavic emblem that forms the basis of many Hutsul designs. The most widespread motif is a six-pointed star inscribed in a circle - the so-called rosette. It is the rose, complete with a cut of triangles on the edge, that is depicted on this cast buckle.
The buckle is made of brass using the casting method. It is hand-finished and patinated.
