Molfar – Brass Frame Belt Buckle
The Molfar brass belt buckle is inspired by the mysterious world of Hutsul folklore and the Ukrainian Carpathians. Molfar is a traditional seer, healer, and sorcerer whom folk belief credits with the ability to protect against evil forces, heal, and predict the future.
The buckle’s design evokes the atmosphere of Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky’s works, in which Hutsul life is closely intertwined with beliefs about supernatural forces inhabiting the forests, mountains, and waters. A striking accessory for lovers of Carpathian traditions, folk magic, and Ukrainian craftsmanship.
Each buckle is cast from brass and finished by hand. After casting, the piece is machined, patinated, and finally polished to highlight the details and create a contrast between the darker recesses and the raised parts of the motif.
