Haubergeon (= small hauberk) is a ring armour with medium-length sleeves that reaches approximately to the thighs.
The RRZ ring armour is made of round, galvanised steel rings. Each individual ring has been hand riveted with round rivets. The binding is made in a 4-in-1 pattern. Compared to the normal, natural finish of the ring armour, the galvanization provides relatively good protection against corrosion. The shine of fresh zinc fades over time and the surface takes on a dull grey colour.
