These tough leather scales in are made of solid cowhide leather.

The leather scales are approximately 3 - 3,5 mm thick and are simply perfect for making solid leather armour.

The scales have holes in them, this allows for easy sewing to the desired backing material such as leather or fabric. The scales should be overlapped to give more protection.

  • Dimensions are 4.1 x 8.3 cm
  • The hole size is 3 - 3.5 mm

We can supply the scales in natural colour or colour of your choice.

Lamellar leather armour has been used since ancient times by the Persians, Greeks and Romans and was still in use by the Byzantines and Vikings into the late Middle Ages.
