Leather sheath for our Canadian-type axes. Made from high-quality smooth cowhide leather and fitted with a snap fastener. The sheath protects the axe blade, prevents injury, and also safeguards other equipment you carry with you on your travels.

The sheath features an embossed symbol of the Vegvisir – an Icelandic protective symbol, sometimes referred to as the “Viking compass”. This symbol originates from preserved Icelandic manuscripts and is associated with protection during travel. According to tradition, it was meant to help its bearer find the right direction even in unknown terrain or bad weather.
The Vegvisir is still seen today as a symbol of certainty, guidance, and a safe return home. On the sheath, it serves as a reminder of the journey, orientation, and trusting one’s own direction.
