Brass knocker in the shape of a lion's head
Brass door knocker decorated with a relief of a majestic lion's head holding a hoop with a finely decorated surface in its mouth. Made of high-quality brass, whose golden lustre and natural patina give the product a historic character. The dimensions of 8.5 × 12 cm make it a distinctive yet elegant addition to the entrance door.
The lion head motif has a long tradition dating back to antiquity, where it symbolised strength, protection and dignity. In the Middle Ages, it adorned castle gates and temple portals as a sign of courage and power, and in the Renaissance and Baroque periods it became a sign of prestige in bourgeois and noble houses. In the Victorian 19th century, the motif made a comeback - at that time the knockers were not only functional but also a representative decoration of entrances.
This piece follows classic European designs. It is suitable as a functional knocker element for historic or stylish doors.
