Code: WTS4775

Generously sized Irish scarf made from extra-fine merino wool, soft, lightweight and pleasantly warm. Its colours are inspired by the landscape of Connemara in County Galway in the west of Ireland – a wild region of mountains, lakes, boglands and the Atlantic coast.

The rich purple and green tones evoke heather-covered moors, grassy slopes and the changing colours of the Connemara landscape. The traditional Irish plaid also refers to the first woollen blankets woven at the Foxford mill.

The scarf is made from 100% extra-fine merino wool. The natural wool provides warmth while remaining lightweight and breathable. Measuring 190 × 50 cm, it can be worn as a classic scarf or draped loosely over the shoulders.

Foxford Woollen Mills is one of Ireland’s traditional woollen manufacturers. The mill was founded in 1892 in the town of Foxford, County Mayo, in the west of Ireland. Its founder, Mother Agnes Morrogh-Bernard, sought to create employment and improve living conditions for the local community through the production of woollen textiles. The mill survived economic crises and major changes in the textile industry, and woollen blankets, throws and scarves are still produced there today.

The scarf is woven directly in Foxford, Ireland, where the tradition of producing woollen textiles has continued for more than 130 years.
