The foremost medieval cuirass. Sheet thickness 1.5 mm. Made in Czech Republic.
Medieval cuirass from the 15th century represents the peak of the development of plate armour in the late Middle Ages. This chest armour protected the knight's torso from slashing and stabbing attacks and was often part of complete plate armour. The cuirass consisted of two parts - a front and a back plate - connected by straps or hanging hooks. It was made of sheet steel, with the moulding providing deflection of blows. In the 15th century, anatomically shaped variants began to appear, following the lines of the body and increasing the mobility of the armour.
