Replica of a Germanic fibula. This beautiful medieval rosette brooch was made after a Merovingian pair of Almandine disc brooches from grave 511 in the Weingarten cemetery.

The historic original fibula, also known as the amaldine disc brooch, was made in southern Germany and dates to the Merovingian period in the 6th century.

This Merovingian rosette brooch is made of high quality bronze and is also available in silver plated. The dimensions of the almandine disc brooch are 2 x 0,7 cm.

Unlike the original almandine disc brooch, for price reasons, this fibula is not set with genuine Amaldinen-Cloisonne, but with red and white glass enamel.

On the back of the rosette brooch is a stable needle with a spiral spring that gives the needle the necessary tension.

Almanda's original Weingarten rosette fibulae were dark red gemstones that probably once came from Sri Lanka and were then brought to Europe during the Merovingian period.
