Musashi emphasized the emptiness of mind, the state of “Mushin,” in which the warrior acts instinctively and without distraction. In his view, the sword is an extension of the spirit, not merely a weapon. This ideal continues to resonate in Japanese culture as a symbol of unyielding will and inner strength.
