An extra large Axe of Perun. Cast from silver. The surface is smooth. Top side of the axe is decorated with GROMOVITI ZNACI (thunder marks of Perun).

These symbols used to be often engraved upon roof beams of village houses in Eastern Europe, to protect old Slavs from lightning.  They also represent people (dancing) around a fire - a unity of a family and a tribe - the Slavic unity. This axe amulet is based on a finding from the Khazar fortress of Sarkel (Саркел) excavated around the 1930s. The Slavs controlled this fortress from 965 until the 12th century.
