The Tree of Life had both spiritual and symbolic significance in Celtic tradition. The Celts believed that trees connected the three worlds - underground, earth and sky - and represented the balance between nature, humans and the gods. Sacred groves served as places of ceremony, assembly and judgment. Each tree was considered a carrier of wisdom, protection and life force. The motif of the tree of life therefore became a symbol of continuity, renewal and interconnection of all forms of existence in Celtic thought.
