- VELES, Slavic God, wooden statue
Veles is a horned and Slavic God who has under his patronage cattle, flocks of sheep, crops and is the ruler of the dead. The cult of fertility is also associated with Veles.
The god VELES is often depicted as a strong man with a bull's head or a human head with horns. As it happens, the Christians saw him as a devil, and so his statue was overthrown in 988 in Kiev by Prince Vladimir into the Pochaina River. The statue is hand-carved, left in its natural state, so you can paint it any shade you like if you wish. Height approx. 40 cm.
