Cavalry sabre USA, model 1860
This replica is based on the historic U.S. Cavalry Sabre Model 1860, which was one of the most widely used cold weapons of the American cavalry in the second half of the 19th century. This type of sabre was the standard armament of the cavalry during the American Civil War and remained in use for many years afterwards. The weapon's design was primarily for slashing blows delivered from horseback, but the curved blade also allowed for effective stabbing techniques.
This replica is fitted with a high carbon steel blade, which provides strength and good material flexibility. The blade is not factory ground, which increases safety during handling and display. The brass handle matches the historical design and provides a firm and stable grip. A matching metal scabbard is also included to complete the overall historic look of the weapon.
The Model 1860 is now considered one of the iconic military sabers of the 19th century. Not intended for combat - collector's replica.
