Medieval belt fitting set - England, late 15th century
For strap width: 24 mm
This replica belt fitting set is from England in the late 15th century, the late Gothic period and the reign of the Tudor dynasty. The set usually includes a clasp, end cap and sometimes decorative elements that served both a functional and decorative purpose.
In the late Middle Ages, the belt was a common part of both male and female clothing, and its fittings often reflected the social status and personal taste of the wearer. Surviving archaeological finds show the widespread use of metal buckles and ends among the bourgeoisie, nobility and soldiers.
This replica is designed for use with a 24mm wide strap and is suitable for historical re-enactment, LARP, costume making or collecting.
