Very authentic reconstruction of a German medieval helmet, ca. 1490, steel 1,6 mm

This very authentic reconstruction from around 1490 is made of 1,6 mm thick steel sheet (approx. 16 gauge). The visor is fastened with beautiful hand-forged rivets and secured with a pin located at the bottom. The helmet is equipped with a comfortable leather lining and a sturdy chin strap with buckle.

A late medieval type of helmet called a sallet was usually worn in combination with a matching neckcloth(bevor) or collar(gorget).
