Historical glass - made of green forest glass. Forest glass was produced in the forests of northwestern and central Europe between about 1000 and 1700 AD and is typical for its green colour. The colouring of the glass is due to the fact that the glassmakers had 'inferior' raw materials at their disposal, unlike, for example, Venetian glassmakers.
