The creation of the Japanese dice set is strongly inspired by virtues based on the old samurai traditions, which are often portrayed in a romanticized form in the West. However, even this is enough to bring the image of the samurai into the present day, not only as a warrior trained in combat, but also as a man with an indomitable will, self-discipline and a firm moral code. According to Bushido, these noble warriors were models of what every man and woman should aspire to in their lives.

Bushidó includes the seven cardinal virtues of Gi, Rei, Yu, Meiyo, Jin, Makoto and Chu, translated as Integrity, Respect, Courage, Honor, Compassion, Sincerity and Loyalty. We wanted our Japanese dice to reflect this philosophy subtly but eloquently. And thanks to the imagination of our fans, we can afford the following interpretation.

The Deep Night Firefly set expresses Bushido through the theme of accepting a challenge - both internal and external. No matter how dark the night or how deep the surrounding gloom - there is always hope for a new dawn. Light in the darkness can be represented by the stars and tiny fireflies over the clearing; even the smallest spark of hope can provide strength to overcome hardship. The golden details on the black ground personify Courage and Honour, which shine in each of us whenever we reach for them in our struggle with fate. Deep Night Firefly is a set that symbolizes our inner strength - the one that allows us to return from every adventure as victors.

The first introduction of the Japanese dice design caused a literal frenzy among Q Workshop fans, and its return in a modernized form was long awaited. To this day, it is a phenomenon familiar to every dice collector.
