Viking Vadstena Bracteate, bronze pendant. Size: 3.7 x 4.2 cm.

The original Vadstena bracteate is a gold bracteate found at Vadstena, Sweden, in 1774. The bracteate was stolen in 1938 from the Swedish Museum of National Antiquities and has not yet been found.

The bracteate was made about 500 CE. In the bracteate is a four-legged animal with a man's head above and a bird. This bracteate is associated probably with the Norse God Odin.

The bracteate is most famous for containing a full listing of the Elder Futhark runic alphabet.
