Metal buckle is based on shapes used in the High Middle Ages and the Late Middle Ages, roughly between 1250 and 1500. It served as a functional connecting element on leather straps of armor, bandoliers, scabbards or pouches. Its simple form corresponds to period finds and allows the material and construction to stand out.
The buckle is used wherever a strong and reliable fastening is needed, whether for historical equipment, costumes or the reconstruction of gear. Thanks to its unobtrusive appearance, it does not disturb the overall look and lets the leather and the product itself take center stage.
It is cast from an alloy of tin and zinc and measures approximately 2.2 x 2.5 cm. It is designed for a leather strap with a width of 1.2 cm. The surface is smooth, without decoration, with slightly rounded edges. The shape corresponds to simple medieval buckles used on functional parts of equipment.
