A replica of an English set of belt fittings from the 14th-15th century, designed for a belt 24 mm wide. The set includes a buckle and end cap, which correspond to the late Gothic style of the then English kingdom. The decoration combines floral and geometric motifs typical of the luxurious metalwork of the city workshops.
Metalwork of this type was used on bourgeois and aristocratic belts as well as on ceremonial garments. It served not only to fasten the belt, but also as a decorative element that emphasised the wearer's status and taste.
