With a menacing arrangement of blades and spikes, the hurlbat's tricky design gives almost no chance of bouncing or sliding when hitting a target. It is also known as the cross throwing axe. The hurlbat was also known by other names, such as Wurfhaken (throwing hook) or Mordhaken. Not limited to Germany, the hurlbat was also popular in Bohemia and Hungary.
