Merovingian beam brooch (5th-6th century)

A replica of a unique brooch from the Merovingian Empire, inspired by the original in the Musée de Laon. This type was particularly popular in Gaul and the Rhineland in the 5th-6th centuries. Brooches were used to fasten clothing and as a symbol of social status - they are often found in the rich graves of the Merovingian elite.

The reconstruction is cast in brass and decorated with coloured cold enamel. It faithfully imitates the aesthetics of the time, when similar jewellery was often decorated with gold or silver plating.

  • Dimensions: 89 × 57 mm

  • Material: brass, cold enamel

  • Finish options: basic brass, silver plating, gold plating

Ideal for historical reconstructions, reenactments, museum displays or as a distinctive collector's accessory inspired by the early Middle Ages. Armour and Castings, Ukraine.
