Roman erotic token Spintria X, 1st century, coin replica
A replica of an ancient token from the Early Imperial period, known as a spintria. These small metal stamps appear in Rome in the 1st century AD and still attract attention today for their openness to erotic themes. One side bears a token bearing the number X in a laurel wreath, the other a delicately rendered love scene. Each piece is hand-cast in zinc and given a subtle patina that recalls the original archaeological finds from Pompeii or Ostia.
This token will delight collectors, historians and anyone interested in the culture of ancient Rome. Its design is both authentic and understated, making it suitable for both a collection and as an unusual gift with a touch of history and humour.
