Octavia - silver pendant with lapis lazuli is a jewel that seems to have stepped out of the mosaic of the ancient world. It is made of high quality silver Ag 925/1000, has a circular shape and is decorated with three cabochons of lapis lazuli with a diameter of 5 mm, complemented by silver elements.
Lapis lazuli was a symbol of power, heaven and spiritual depth in ancient times. In Mesopotamia and Egypt it was used to make amulets and ornaments to protect the wearer and strengthen the inner sight. Its distinctive blue became the colour of gods and pharaohs - it was valued more than gold. In medieval Europe, lapis was crushed and used as a pigment in royal illuminations.
