This poppy is made of resin and is a hand painted model. The wolf poppy is a symbol of the commemoration of the First World War. It has a magnet on the back. The wolf poppy magnet comes with an information card which has a picture of a wolf poppy on the front and on the back it describes how the wolf poppy became a symbol of the First World War.

After the First World War, the wolf poppy was adopted as a symbol of remembrance of the fallen. Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, who served in the war, was inspired by the sight of poppies growing in war-torn fields to write his now famous poem 'In Flanders Fields'. Its opening lines refer to the abundance of poppies, which were one of the first flowers to grow in the scattered soil on the graves of soldiers in Flanders, a region in Belgium.
