Poppy pin badges, small gifts and keepsakes commemorating the First World War (1914–1918). They recall historical events and the lives of soldiers who served on the battlefields of the Great War.

The Poppy and Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November, the anniversary of the 1918 armistice that ended the fighting on the Western Front during the First World War. It is an occasion to remember the fallen and honour living veterans of all conflicts.

The red poppy became a symbol of remembrance through its association with In Flanders Fields, a poem written in 1915 by Canadian military doctor John McCrae. Worn on clothing, it expresses remembrance of the fallen and respect for veterans.
