Medieval wooden spoon. Made using traditional carving techniques and based on a find from the Rodewisch water castle.
This short spoon is made of acacia wood. It is based on late medieval cooking spoons from the late 15th century.
Apart from long-handled spoons, which were mainly used as cooking spoons, late medieval cooking spoons usually had a very short handle and a wide bowl and were sometimes decorated with simple carvings.
