Roman gladius. For a combination of slashing and stabbing style of close combat, the Roman gladius was unsurpassed. Its simplicity and effectiveness ensured its success as a mass-produced weapon of the mighty and feared Roman army.
This version has a longer blade for better range and higher prestige, which was reserved for Roman officers.
The hilt and scabbard are beautifully decorated and suitable for soldiers of higher rank. Brass ornaments decorate the wooden guard and pommel, and a medallion with Caesar's likeness is embedded in the plastic handle. The double-edged blade is lightly sharpened at the factory.
The leather scabbard with wooden core and the belt also feature brass elements, including a lion head motif on the central belt handle, emphasizing the higher status.
