The origin of moldavites is connected to the impact of a meteorite that struck the Bavaria region 15 million years ago. This was followed by a meteorite shower, with many fragments landing in the lake areas of South Bohemia, where they are still found today. Moldavites are considered the most beautiful tektites in the world, admired for their green color and unique texture.
In South Bohemia, there was a tradition in which every young man gifted this stone to his future bride as a symbol of his deepest feelings. Interestingly, W. Churchill was said to always carry this magical stone in his pocket for good luck.
