Moldavite is one of the rarest stones of Czech origin. It was formed approximately 15 million years ago during the impact of a massive meteorite in what is now Bavaria. The collision melted the surrounding rocks and scattered them across the region of South Bohemia. These solidified fragments of glass-like material are known as moldavites.
Moldavite is often considered a stone of transformation, energy, and spiritual growth. Since the 19th century, it has been attributed strong protective and inspirational properties. It is worn as a talisman that helps overcome major life changes while symbolising the connection between Earth and the cosmos. Thanks to its origin and appearance, it is popular among collectors, jewellers and those who appreciate the power of natural stones.
The image is illustrative; each piece is unique, differing in shape and in shades of green. The stone weighs approximately 0.6–1 g and is stored in a transparent box with an origin label. Its surface carries the typical pitted texture created by the rapid cooling of molten material after the meteorite impact. The moldavite comes from Czech localities, where it is mined in limited quantities and sought after as both a souvenir and a collector’s item.
