ANTONIA - silver ring with garnet is a tribute to the craft and charm of ancient Rome. Its shape and details draw inspiration from the rings worn by Roman matrons and noble women during the Imperial period. The delicate relief is reminiscent of the filigree work we know from archaeological finds, but unlike traditional wirework, the ring is cast in solid Ag 925/1000 silver, giving it a more massive character and durability.

The centre of the ring is a smooth garnet in a cabochon cut 8mm in diameter - a stone popular in the ancient world not only for its deep red colour, but also for its symbolism. In ancient Rome, garnet was considered a stone of vitality, strength and protection. It was worn by soldiers, travellers and housewives as an amulet against misfortune and as a reminder of life energy.

ANTONIA gives the impression of a piece of jewellery that could have been found in the excavations at Pompeii or in the jewellery box of a Roman patrician woman. It carries the morphology of ancient times, but at the same time is firmly rooted in contemporary craftsmanship.
