Brass buckle "Templar".
The Knights Templar - one of the most famous Christian orders of chivalry - was founded in the early 11th century. In addition to military activities, the Knights Templar successfully engaged in usury, construction and charitable activities. At the height of their power they had a powerful army (up to 20,000 knights, chaplains, men-at-arms and servants) and an extensive network of headquarters, castles and monasteries, playing a key role in medieval Europe.
The buckle is cast in brass. Each buckle is hand-worked after casting. It is then patinated and re-polished. The buckle is supplied with a brass frame in a choice of two sizes (38mm and 45mm) for later attachment to the belt.
