Throwing axe – the so-called francisca. Made from a single piece of forged steel, the axe is sharp and hardened.
The axe features a hand-stitched leather wrap under the head with the Adam Čeladín logo (five-time world champion in knife throwing), protecting the most stressed part of the handle during impacts. The product also includes a leather sheath with Adam Čeladín’s logo, which protects the blade from dulling and prevents accidental cuts.

Francisca was a typical throwing axe of the Franks, used mainly in the early Middle Ages during the 5th–7th centuries. This weapon was characterized by a short handle and a curved blade head. Thanks to its shape, it was ideal for throwing at short range just before the clash of armies.
Frankish warriors threw the francisca at enemy shields or into opposing ranks. Upon impact, the axe often stuck into the shield or bounced unpredictably, disrupting the enemy’s defense and causing confusion in their formation. This tactical element gave the Franks an advantage in the subsequent close combat.
