Replica of Viking belt buckle and Borre style belt loop . This detailed replica of a Viking belt buckle is based on a historical pattern from the Viking city of Birka and represents the so-called Borre style, dating back to the 9th century.
The buckle was found on the island of Björkö in Lake Mälaren, Sweden, in grave 750, and was originally made of silver.
The buckle clearly shows the embossed 'beast' motif typical of the 9th century.
The dimensions of the Birka buckle are 4,5 × 7,5 cm, the dimensions of the belt loop: 2,5 × 10 cm.
