Viking sword (National Museum Copenhagen) with scabbard, 10th century, practical blunt version.
This sword, inspired by the original kept in the National Museum in Copenhagen, has a blunt blade made of high carbon spring steel. The wide blade offers less weight while maintaining high strength thanks to the deep fuller. The guard and pommel are made of steel. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The scabbard is made of wooden core covered with leather and is equipped with a metal ferrule on the tip and also a wooden belt clip (max. belt width 5 cm).
The sword is ideally suited for light stage fencing / film fencing. Hardened to approx. 48 HRC, the sword is not covered by warranty. This is primarily a costume accessory.
