The Celtic helmet from Batina is a rare archaeological find from the area of present-day Croatia, specifically from the site of Batina on the Danube. This helmet belongs to the Celtic type from the Late Iron Age (Latenian culture) and dates back to approximately the 3rd-2nd century BC. It is made of bronze and represents exceptionally fine craftsmanship - it has an elegant, smooth shape and decoration that may have had both aesthetic and ritual significance. The helmet may have belonged to an important Celtic warrior or chieftain, as evidenced by its elaborate craftsmanship. The discovery at Batina confirms the presence of the Celts in the Danube region and their contacts with other cultures, including the Greco-Roman civilisation. The helmet is important evidence of Celtic military equipment and social hierarchy. Today it is considered one of the most valuable Celtic relics found in south-eastern Europe.
