A ferrocerium flint is a tool that you use to start a fire with a spark. The principle of flinting is not complicated. It is based on rubbing (flinting) the throttle (tinder) on the rod, which creates sparks that ignite the prepared combustible base. There are a number of names for flint such as firesteel, army flint, survival flint, but the principle of starting a fire remains the same. Most experienced travellers carry a flint with them at all times and cannot afford to let it fail. The main advantage is the fire starting regardless of the surrounding conditions, light weight and small size. The flint is a suitable accessory not only for enthusiasts and professionals, but also for beginners, when with its help you can easily light a fireplace, grill, fireplace.
